Interested in getting a computer but can’t decide between a laptop and a desktop? Here is a great list with a breakdown of some pros and cons.
Laptop Computers
Pros:
- Portable
- Great for tiny apartments because they are small
- Great for spur-of-the-moment ideas and writing
- Easy to take in for repairs
Cons:
- Can lose battery power without a cord
- Batteries need replacing and can be very expensive
- They can break when being transported
- Coffee can spill on the because they are taken to coffee shops so often
- Set up/take down time
- Many new cell phones offer the on-the-fly communication many people get laptops for
- Some people have said the keyboards are harder to type on
- Can get stolen easier than a desktop computer
Desktop Computers
Pros:
- Many come with more memory
- Many are faster
- Can have a printer hookup
- USB ports easily manageable
- No batteries
Cons:
- Not portable
- Large and can take up space
- Hard to take in for repairs
- They usually stay plugged in all the time which wastes lots of energy
